Accessibility Ramp 

Jubilee Church was looking to improve accessibility and inclusion for both the congregation and staff by introducing a new barrier free ramp from the Sanctuary floor up to the raised Chancel. Together we explored many possible layouts and implemented a permanent ramp design that seamlessly integrated within the beautiful settings of the existing church. 

The new ramp occupies a previously underutilized back of house corridor and involved select demolition of load bearing elements to open up the space. Interventions allow for public access up to the raised platform of the Chancel for users of all abilities. Fixture and finishes were carefully selected to ensure that the ramp was durable and blended in with surroundings to feel as if it had always been there.
